    Dr George Awwad completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Adelaide in 2010. He undertook specialist training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS – Orthopaedics) in 2020. George pursued three additional fellowships in New South Wales, further developing expertise in sports-related knee injuries, joint replacement surgery and minimally invasive and robotic-assisted techniques for hip and knee surgery. 

    His surgical practice includes robotic knee replacement, ACL reconstruction, meniscus repair and knee arthroscopy, and personalised anterior hip replacement and robotic hip replacement. George consults at Memorial Hospital, Flinders Private Hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, Noarlunga Hospital and regional locations. 

    George’s published research includes knee injuries in elite rugby league, informed by his work with the NSW Waratahs Super Rugby Union team and the Newcastle Knights NRL team, and studies on long-term joint replacement outcomes.
